So back in June, I was reading The Jewish Daily Forward and saw an article claiming to “Decode an Anti-Semitic Meme”. I read the article, written by Jay Michaelson, and while it was well-meaning, it was incorrect. The author made a number of reasonable, if inaccurate, assumptions. The logic that followed, while sound, was based on an inaccurate assumption and led to conclusions that were not true. It’s totally understandable.
I said as much in an email I wrote to The Forward. It basically said that I was a reader, and had noticed some inaccuracies in the article. Didn’t expect a reply. But I got one. And they asked me to just write a brief response piece to be put on their site. I agreed and here were are.
